Travelling with your pet
Best practices for travelling with your pet with peace of mind.
On board a ZOU ! train
- A single fee of €5 is charged for each animal, regardless of its weight or size.
- Animals accepted: small animals in a closed bag or basket, muzzled dogs* and guide dogs.
- Guide dogs travel free of charge if they wear a working vest marked ‘guide dog in training’ or the training centre's logo; the owner must present their trainer card.
- The animal must remain under your responsibility throughout the journey.
*Excluding dogs in categories 1 and 2, as defined by the French Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
On board a ZOU ! bus
Pets admitted free of charge on ZOU ! buses are:
- Guide dogs or assistance dogs with a specific card or disability card. They travel without a muzzle.
- Law enforcement dogs travelling with a PASS Sûreté.
- Dogs involved in rescue/security operations (kept on a leash and muzzled, upon presentation of a professional dog handler card).
A fare of €2.50 applies for:
- Small, harmless animals weighing less than 10 kg, travelling in a cage, closed bag, on a leash or muzzled (if dogs).
- The supplement is to be paid directly to the driver.
All animals travel under the seat or on their owner's lap.
Good to know: Chemins de Fer de Provence
The conditions for travelling with a pet on the Chemins de fer de Provence (Provence railway lines) are the same as those applied on ZOU ! buses, with the exception that all dogs must wear a muzzle, regardless of their weight.
